Raw Material Unit is the measuring unit for the quantity and value of recycled or bio-based feedstock as a substitution for fossil feedstock.
¥ RMUs are generated when recycled or bio-based feedstock is co-fed with fossil feedstock into a chemical production unit.
¥ RMUs must not be generated when the output of the chemical production unit is marketed as Òrecycled or biobasedÓ
¥ RMUs are stored in auditable booking systems.
¥ RMUs are consumed upon production of a RAP.
¥ Within a system boundary of connected sites and production units of a company and within the balancing period of one year the RMU balance must not turn negative.
